How To Use Custom Domain In Blogger.com

1. Set up your domain name in your Blogger.com


  • Once you log into your Blogger account, click on the name of your blog, which you want to map to a domain:

  • Then click on the Settings tab and select Basic:

  • In the Publishing section, click the 'Set up a third-party URL for your blog' link to add a custom domain:

  • Type the URL of the domain that you purchased, input domain name and input domain name to make this work start with www (or a subdomain) and click on the save button:

  • After refreshing the page, you will see two CNAME records, which are created in the host records of your domain:

Each CNAME is made up of two parts - for name, label or host and destination, goal or digit.
The first CNAME is that the same for every, the name "www" and therefore the destination "ghs.google.com.
The second CNAME is special for your blog and your Google account, and therefore is different for each person.

2. Now you can create necessary records for your domain in your own name.


- Sign in to your nominee account (sign in option is available in the top cap of the page).

- Select the domain list from the left sidebar and click the Manage button next to your domain:

- Click the Advanced DNS tab and find the Host Records section> click the Add new record button

Here you will need to create 6 records for your domain:

- @ 216.239.32.21, 216.239.34.21, 216.239.36.21 and 216.239.38.21 to indicate a record

- CNAME mapped to www ghs.google.com for www
- CNAME with the values provided in the Blogger account

Once all the details are included, save them using Save Green icon.

3. Please make sure there is no contradictory record set for the same host and remove them, if any. Records url redirects you can have are redirects (Unmasked / Masked / Permanent Redirect), A or CNI record types.

4. Before you move on to the last stage, wait for half an hour to make newly created host records effective. If you try the last step before your settings are activated, then a warning message will appear in your Blogger account.

After your setting is activated, you wish to form certain that Blogger is aware of regarding your custom domain so Google will direct readers to your web log.



Just go back to your Blogger account and save the information on your original tab:

To make sure that your bare domain redirects to the www subdomain, click the Edit link:
